Owner & Maker

Situated in Upper Hopton, Mirfield, West Yorkshire surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside. I created West Riding Soapworks in 2019, after spending 2 years creating soap for myself and my family as our own answer to the growing problem of single-use plastic.

Once I formulated my own soap recipe, I wanted to share them with everyone, after all, natural soap is a little bit of affordable luxury everyone can enjoy. My soap contains only skin-nourishing natural ingredients and has no synthetic colours or fragrances.

No harsh drying ingredients here!

With the encouragement of friends and family, I took the step to have my unique formula assessed by a cosmetic chemist. I am now a member of the Guild of Craft Soap and Cosmetic Makers, and am fully compliant with EU safety standards.

I started selling my products to the local community, and their response was fantastic, it really encouraged me to continue.

Following the success of my soap products I decided to expand my product range, still keeping everything natural and free from harmful chemicals. I now offer shampoo bars, hand, and foot creams. I remain true to our original ethos of finding plastic-free, sustainable packaging.

In 2023 I won a silver award for my soaps in The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards. This magazine recognises products that support sustainable living without compromising on quality.

The Yorkshire Post Magazine also ran a feature on my business in November 23.

I absolutely love learning new processes, making these products and sharing them with my customers. Iā€™m excited to see where the next few years will take my little business.

I get out and about each month at various markets with my husband, across Yorkshire.

Please do check out my social media sites to see where we are next. You may even get the chance to meet our lovely rescue dog Button!
